Planning to Share Slides (February 2 - February 8)
Participants will investigate both Slideshare and Bubbleshare and determine which tool is best suited to their teaching/learning context or preferences. They will make a brief slideshow considering potential applications. Participants will again visit each other's blogs to comment on the work.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of Week 4, participants will be able to:
1) Discuss the potential applications of slideshows for enhancing language learning.
2) Provide a rationale for the selection of one of the slidesharing tools.
3) Determine the potential effectiveness of these tools for a specific teaching/learning situation.
Activities
In this week, participants will:
- Compare the two tools and post comments in the YG
- View example lesson plans ('Wishes and Regrets' and 'Personal Guided Tour of my city') (see discussion in the YG)
- Make a brief slide sharing presentation using one of the tools and comment on its potential applications in the YG
- Embed the slideshow in your blog
- Use advanced features of the slidesharing tools i.e. embedding a You Tube video in Slideshare (optional)
- Visit other participants' blogs and comment on their presentations (optional)
- Develop a lesson plan using a slide sharing tool (optional, but recommended)
- Join one of the Saturday sessions to discuss the tools, lesson plan ideas and connect with group
- Give feedback on how the week was by answering a simple question
- Self-check the learning outcomes for Week 4 (optional)
